https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/boeing-delays-some-737-max-deliveries-after-new-quality-defect-2024-02-05/ "This past Thursday, a supplier notified us of a non-conformance in some 737 fuselages. I want to thank an employee at the supplier who flagged to his manager that two holes may not have been drilled exactly to our requirements," Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Stan Deal said in a letter to staff referring to Spirit, which is the sole 737 fuselage supplier. "While this potential condition is not an immediate flight safety issue and all 737s can continue operating safely, we currently believe we will have to perform rework on about 50 undelivered airplanes," Deal said in the letter

Interesting to see how this ends up. Maybe I am wrong, but I believe that filing a lawsuit is different from being charged, so the article title seems a bit misleading. However, I think that a US government agency can put a lot of "roadblocks" against releasing documents.

@George-K said in Gov DeSantis Proposes Four New US Amendments: What's the objection to line-item veto? It's great in the system the founders envisioned but in a party system It has the potential to end political compromise. Do you want Johnson and Schumer to hammer out a bipartisan deal just to have Biden strike out all the 'compromise', leaving a partisan bill on the books? Though I imagine in practice legislative negotiations would include side agreements not to strike out elements of compromise.

@Rich said in Sold! For between $6K and $7K: So is this a Sama or IHOPS (or whatever they’re called these days?) job? No way a finish, and (mostly) new action is done stateside, then sold with delivery for $7k. Either that, or work was done…owner passed away (or downsized) and the piano was acquired by the dealer that way. Ivers and Ponds were built like tanks…still 100 years old is a 100 years old. Gotta assume there are new dampers, right? But why not list it?

This doesn’t make sense. More risk? Price it in FFS. But the price isn’t infinity. Usually there’s some poor regulations behind things like this.

There simply is no other choice Yes, but do they protrude in front of the seat before yours? Frankly? No idea. Try not to, but if it happens? Oh well. We’ll deal with it if it becomes an issue. I can tell you - you would have to try to do that. It does not happen accidentally. It has never happened to me on hundreds of flights. I have fairly long legs as well but to get that far in that space you’d have to lean your seat back and press your legs down then scoot forward with your butt below the seat. to make them straight.

This would be different from my toddler's car seat how? Well, there is the blood. You wouldn’t want to explain that, would you?

There's a cottage industry of people who lure pedos then film a confrontation with them. I know To Catch a Predator did it before, but on youtube there's several channels dedicated to it. I watch some true crime stuff, but those sorts of preying on predator videos are a gross spectacle. Often the 'heroes' are sadists who enjoy the psychological torture of the bad guys.

You’re essentially saying the modern world is to blame. Maybe in order to Make America Great Again you’re going to need to divest yourself of all this sinful technology and go back to living like in the 1930’s and talking funny like a foreigner attempting to sound British, not showing cleavage and keeping one foot on the floor at all times whilst in bed. I’m already half way there.

Interesting story. Obviously a prodigy, but at what cost? She seems like she turned out okay, but still........ “He wanted more than he could get out of everybody, including me,” she said. “What would you call a person who beat you for every little mistake you made? It was miserable.” As she grew up, Slenczynska said her father forced her to practice the piano for nine hours a day while her two younger sisters played outside. Her family had moved to Paris when she was 4 so she would have access to the best teachers as she progressed in her piano studies. “I wanted to join [my sisters], but if I didn’t want to practice, I was chased around with a stick,” she said.
